At first I was kinda undecided about whether I like these Celine Wooden Platforms or not. I really love the way they look in the 2 last pictures. But I think I'm really starting to dig them especially after watching the Celine RTW Spring 2010 show. They should definietely be a must for summer... sigh.... I cannot wait.

I AM NOT MY HAIR...OR AM I?

I can already hear that India Arie song playing in my head: "I am not my hair, I am not this skin, I am not your expectation..."; telling me that one's beauty goes beyond one's hair but sometimes I feel the need to challenge such statements. I ask myself what makes a woman's beauty and if having beautiful hair wasn't that important, why do people spend so much money on making sure that their hair looks right? Whether they spend it on haircuts, perming, chemically straightening, cutting dying or braiding. Why are people prepared to spend such huge amounts of money? This applies to people of all racial backgrounds and hair textures. Certain religions, such as Judaism and Islam, even believe that a woman's hair makes her beauty that is why a man's wife cannot show her hair in public. I sometimes really wonder if spending huge amounts of money on your hair is justified because it tells one so much about who we are. I personally take myself quite seriously when I need to get a haircut or my hair straightened and the hairstylist does something wrong, I'll definitely be quite upset, especially considering the fact that I'm paying for him or her to get it right. So let's not underestimate the power of a great hairstyle, it can change your face and the way you look and it will probably be the first thing someone notices when they see you and thus it will attract compliments. Have you ever noticed how in any makeover show, once the complete makeover is done with the hair, the makeup and the clothes; people are always more receptive to the hair because that's what you're stuck with. The clothes are going to come off and the makeup will be wipeoff eventually, but your hair is yours and it will be with you for a while and you should treat it with care... because healthy hair is happy hair and happy hair is beautiful. So if you had to ask me if I was my hair... I'd say: absolutely, because if my hair looks beautiful... I will feel too!

Seeing that we were on the topic of Louboutin, here's so more eyecandy. I really love the unisex black studded slipons... and the "Christian Louboutin Clou Noeud" that my friend, Cynthia, introduced me to so months back are pretty hot as well....

LOUBOUTIN FOR HIM

Here's something that boys can rejoice about (erm... well if you can afford these i guess)... Christian Louboutin for Men in 2010. Pharrell was spotted wearing a pair before their release. I'm not surprised because when it comes to style, Pharrell never disappoints. However, I do prefer the studded hightops in black rather than white and I can't say I'm a super fan of the shoes... the leopard hightops are magnifique... I'd like to be a boy just so I can wear them;)

IN ITALY, BOYS DON'T WEAR SOCKS!

Something as subtle as not wearing socks can make the world of a difference when it comes to changing the mood of an outfit. Italian men always seem to get it right, even though I see boys trying to emulate these looks; there always seems to be something missing (hmmm eg moisturised feet or they'll wear loafers without socks and since I'm just not a fan of loafers, it never seems to do it for me. So boys, this post was especially for your, just a proof that u can wear shoes without socks, even with a suit, without looking likw a hobo...So fold those pants up boys, put some lotion on your feet and remember to not wear your socks;)

LOVING THESE PRADA DRAFT LENS

Hi everybuddy, here's a quick post on piece of eyewear I'd love to get my hands on: the Prada Draft Lens. I'm not usually into the big 60's glasses trend but I can definitely see myself wearing these funky glasses. Jessica Alba and Nicole Richie are also fans... although I wouldn't see Jessica Alba rock these shades, it's no surprise to me that Nicole is a fan considering that she possesses hundreds of pairs of Jackie O's ie the ultimate 60s shades.

BLOGGERS... A NEW ERA OF DESIGNERS

First things first, I must apologse for being gone for so long... working at one of the stadiums of the World Cup can be quite tiring but I'm back now and i promise notto leave you for so long... Back to more important stuff... FASHION!

Now that fashion bloggers have more influence in the world of fashion than ever before ie your Scott Schumans, Jane Aldridge and Bryan Boys, its no surprise that brands will call upon them to design some collections. This is becoming increasingly frequent as fashionistas all over the world are more interested in and inspired by what the average fashionista's interpretation of fashion is... em ... its cheaper and you can always use what you have in your cupboard rather than looking at what celebrities are wearing for inspiration. Thus, I thought I'd give you (my loyal readers;)) a taste of the type of clothes my fellow bloggers are designing; although I just think it's a way for brands to be a part of how blogging is changing fashion as a whole. Garance Dore collaborated with Gap and designed a series of t-shirts for Gap's 40th anniversary with her drawings on them. Jane Aldridge from Sea of Shoes designed some shoes for Urban Outfitters and Rumi of Fashion Toast designed a beautiful collection for RVCA for F/W 09. Marc Jacob sweetheart, Bryan Boy, (Marc deisgned a bag named after him) recently tweeted (how I hate that word) about collaborating with H&M very soon, I'm quite curious to see what he'll bring to the table...
