ARISE AFRICAN FASHION WEEK 09

The inauguration of the Arise African Fashion Week kicked off on Friday, 12 June 2009, and has ever since showcased a number of extremely talented and promising African designers that we should all keep our eyes on. Upon leaving the Lanre da Silva and Gloria Wavamunno shows, I couldn't resist the urge to photograph some really stylish and cool kids... So I did just that. Most of them were either studying fashion design, working for fashion magazines or designers themselves. I hope you like them as much as I did.

PETER LIPPMANN FOR LOUBOUTIN

This campaign is very different from the ones we're used to seeing. a single silhouette or face of a model cannot be spotted. It is purely the beauty and perfection of Christian Louboutin's work combined with the photographic genius of Peter Lippmann resulted in a beautiful work of art that we're not used to seeing due to all the top models that raid the first couple of pages of Vogue and Bazaar.

Not too long ago I posted the demin jacket as a 'tendance', it's not suprising to me that the demin jacket followed soon after.

PENNY LOAFERS

Hey girls and boys... I apologize for the delay between uploads lately, exams and all... you know how it goes. Anywho... I've prepared a great 'tendance' for you... Penny Loafers... their cute, nerdy, preppy and scream Parisian chic. These mocassins have replaced pumps otherwise knows as ballerines in the hearts of 'fashionistas' and can be adapted to men as well. I just love them, they've really made a huge come back this year and I don't doubt that boys and girls will be rocking the trend.
