FOR THE LOVE OF GREY

Ralph Lauren A/W 2009/2010

Alexander Wang RTW 2010

Preen A/W 2009/2010

Isabel Marant and Alexander Wang are both fans of this colour, and so am I... wearing grey is right on trend - and so convenient for me since it's my fave colour. Matter of fact I think it's just one of those colours that will just always be in fashion because of it's simplicity and neutrality... it goes well with so many colours... whether it's light or dark but personally, I love teaming up light grey with white, I think they complement each other so beautifully... Lately I've seen grey being teamed up with neon colours, which makes the neon trend so much more interesting instead of having splashes of neon being thrown at you... sober the trend down with grey. One thing I would not recommend though is the grey nail polish... it looks really merky on and really isn't flattering. So I'm going to have to pass on that trend... what I also find really interesting is  the way Alex Wang teamed up light grey with leopard print... magnifique...

TAO OKAMOTO

3.1 Philip Lim Fall RTW 2009

Never underestimate the power of a haircut, we've seen what a haircut can achieve on even the most beautiful models, for example Anja Rubik, who I've featured on the blog before for chopping her goldie locks as well as Milagros Schmoll... their haircuts did not only give their look more oomph but it also made them book more jobs and act as muses to top designers. The new model to join the team is Japanese model Tao Okamoto... after she made the cut, Philip Lim emulated her haircut on all his models for 3.1 Philip Lim Fall RTW 2009 show and she (of course) was first face. Her face is now always present in the major shows and all the top designers love her for...

SOPHIA KOKOSALAKI RTW 2010

I'm ashamed to actually say this but I only recently discovered who Sophia Kokosalaki was and I absolutely loved every piece of her RTW, 2010 collection. It's feminine without beign too girly. I think her collection is right up there with Stella McCartney and DVF who just know how to make women feel feminine, strong and sexy. My favourite piece in the collection is the draped high waisted skirt with it's hanging pieces... I love the neutral tones she used...the beiges especially and how she pairs it with black... wow

GEMMA WARD IN NY

Up until about a year ago Gemma Ward was indispensable to the catwalks of Milan, Paris and New York. She was Karl Lagerfeld's protegee and was present in most of the camapaigns that filled Vogue's pages. However, lately she's been absent in the fashion scene and was recently seen looking rounded (and healthier) for her birthday party in NY. Whrn I saw these pictures I was extremely shocke, I didn't know what to think really... I mean this retired model gains a whole lot of weight right after having stopped modelling. Does that highlight how much models are forced to eat 'healthy' or not eat at all... She's still so beautiful no matter how much weight she's gained... And I think this also demonstrates how strict and hard it is to stay so thin and how unnatural this is... I actually tihinking that her stopping modelling is for the better...

LETTERS TO THE BLACK SEA

I've been bragging about my friend's artwork the entire weekend after I went to her exhibition this Friday. I thought it would be nice to show off her amazing work, to say the least, on the blog. Unfortunately these pictures do not do her work justice.

NATALIE PORTMAN FOR V MAGAZINE

This cover for V Magazine is definitely one of my favourite covers, of all time (seriously it it). A couple of months ago I posted the cover that all the top models did for V magazine, this included the likes of Gisele, Kate, Naomi, Claudia and Carmen... but I think that although Natalie's alone... she makes these supermodels look small... she's simply fiere!.... I love the hairstyle a la James Dean with the biker jacket!

STREET STYLE: FTV VILLAGE WALK, CARAMEL SUNDAE PARTY, 1 NOVEMBER 2009

I love how quirky this dress was... It's just a fun little number. There were many 'trendy' people at that party but I particularly liked her outfit because it seemed like she just threw it on and was just so comfortable in what she was wearing...
